Sean Ekins Ph.D, D.Sc email at Sean Ekins graduated from the University of Aberdeen; receiving his M.Sc., Ph.D. and D.Sc. His areas of interest are in vitro and computational ADME/Tox, biomarkers, systems biology, computational drug discovery and Tuberculosis research. He was a postdoctoral fellow at Lilly Research Laboratories in the drug disposition group. He has worked as a senior scientist at Pfizer and Lilly Research Laboratories in drug-drug interaction screening and computational ADME/Tox groups, respectively and as Associate Director of Computational Drug Discovery at Concurrent Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Vice President of Computational Biology at GeneGo (now part of Thomsen Reuters). Through Collaborations in Chemistry, Sean provides consulting services for several companies including: Collaborative Drug Discovery Inc. (VP Science), Phoenix Nest (CSO), BioGan (CSO), Social Scientific Media (CSO). In addition, he consults for major pharmaceutical, biotech and consumer product companies. He has authored or co-authored ~200 peer reviewed papers and book chapters as well as edited four books. He is Associate Editor of the Journal of Pharmacological and Toxicological Methods, on the Editorial Board of Drug Discovery Today, Mutation Research Reviews and the Reviews Editor for Pharmaceutical Research. He currently serves on the scientific advisory board for Emiliem Inc http://www.emiliem.com/. Assay Depot and the Bimini Inc. http://www.biminihealth.com/ He has been involved in the co-development of several scientific mobile apps with Dr. Alex Clark (namely Green Solvents, ODDT and TB Mobile). Sean has published 4 books for Wiley "Computer applications in pharmaceutical research and development", "Computational Toxicology: Risk Assessment For Pharmaceutical and Environmental Chemicals", and with Jim Xu, "Drug Efficacy, Safety, and Biologics Discovery: Emerging Technologies and Tools", and with Maggie Hupcey and Antony J. Williams "Collaborative Computational Technologies for Biomedical Research".
